Danny Thomas founded St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital with one simple, yet powerful mission; that “no child should die in the dawn of life.” Anthony and Marcelle “Honorine” Gance were among the countless people touched by this message. Their passion for this great cause lives on through their son Scott and the Honorine St. Jude Golf Classic.
The 3rd annual Honorine St. Jude Golf Classic will be held on Monday, August 27, at the Silvermine Golf Club in Norwalk. The event will be a four-person scramble, and feature on-course contests with the chance to win an A5 Cabriolet courtesy of Danbury Audi. Participants will also be treated to an inspirational awards dinner, live entertainment, celebrity guests, a silent auction, and much more.
The Golf Performance Center in Ridgefield will host a Pre-Tournament Golf Challenge on Saturday, August 4. The Challenge will give event participants another opportunity to win some great prizes while supporting a great cause.
The Little Pub in Ridgefield will also be hosting a Pre-Tournament Celebration two days later on August 6. From 12:00-10:30PM, 20% of gross dining receipts will be donated to the foundation.
The Honorine has set a goal of $100,000.00 to raise from the 2012 event. This year’s tournament is supported by a number of high-profile corporate sponsors including Traveler’s Insurance, The Boston Bruins, and The New England Patriots. Reaching this year’s goal will ultimately rely on the contributions of individuals, regardless of Boston/New York sports loyalties.
All net proceeds directly benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and its life-saving mission.
